  • Master’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience working in the field of measurement and evaluation, in technical and management capacities.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically to draw sound conclusions on the basis of complex data. 
  • Capability to frame complex issues in clear and simple language.
  • Good knowledge of working with data analyses and visualising evidence to inform strategy, policy and management decisions.
  • Actively building trustful relationships and networks with people internally and externally.
  • Good knowledge of best practices in social sector measurement, evidence standards, of structuring and managing monitoring and evaluation programs, grants and contracts and of cost-effectiveness within monitoring and evaluation.

About the role
As Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Specialist you will create the systems for the newly established entity IKEA Social Entrepreneurship BV to be able to monitor and evaluate our social impact goals. This means that you:

  • Lead the initiative’s efforts to use data and evidence to support partnerships and funding strategies.
  • Enable the team to apply appropriate MEL objectives and metrics in the strategy and programmes and to continuously evaluate and develop them.
  • Lead and oversee implementation of guidelines and standards for generating and using evidence for decision-making.
  • Lead and oversee an impact measurement framework for the initiative including objectives and metrics at an organisational, programme and partnership level.
  • Enabling the team in developing and executing learning agendas across the initiative and partnerships.
  • Lead and/or enabling evaluations and other measurement initiatives for specific programmes and partnerships.
  • Contributing with independent advice, guidance and trouble-shooting to impact measurement and evaluation of complex programmes and partnerships to ensure the effective and timely resolution of issues.
  • Lead the development of a performance reporting tool of partnerships.
  • Enable excellent external relationships within learning and evaluation partners to help build the strategic networks that advance the initiative’s agenda.

This is a senior role, and you’re up to it – but you’re also not afraid to get your hands into things and do what needs to be done.

About the assignment
The purpose of IKEA Social Entrepreneurship is to:

  • Leverage the social impact of the IKEA business, by accelerating the movement of social entrepreneurship and social businesses.
  • Provide a knowledge hub, develop programs, financial tools and a co-worker engagement platform through a combined set-up between philanthropy and business.

IKEA Social Entrepreneurship will focus especially on livelihoods, equality and inclusion. By setting social impact goals, making long-term commitments and creating partnerships we can take on and contribute to solving big, complex social challenges.

A few more details for you
This full-time (40 hours) position is temporary until 31 December 2018. You will be based in Delft, the Netherlands. Travel will be required.
