Range & Supply Communication lead communication to enable better business and build trust for IKEA as a brand, company and employer. We enable better business by creating commitment and understanding for our business priorities and we set pre-conditions for colleagues to lead with communication. 

About you
We believe that you have extensive and proven event management experience, managing and delivering large events from inception to completion. You have sound business understanding with the ability to work closely with business managers. You have genuine interest in home furnishing as well as customer needs and desires. You have excellent communication skills, you understand how communication builds trust and better business, combined with tact and diplomacy and you are fluent in English.  Your organizational skills are remarkable and you have a strong delivery focus. You are detail-oriented, organised and thrive when you are under high pressure with tight deadlines. You have the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and you have experience in ordering and handling film, live streaming, sound and light. 

About the job

  • You play a key role in leading the overall project and project team from initial ordering brief through the completion and follow-up.
  • You liaise with the orderer on regular basis and work closely with design and operations teams to ensure events are completed on budget and on time.
  • You manage and negotiate with third party suppliers (audio visual, venues, speakers etc.) to obtain preferential terms and conditions, including payment schedules and best available rates.
  • You provide regular updates on the status of each event.
  • You brief in any event promotional material needed for each event.
  • You ensure all operational elements for allocated events are completed in a timely manner, for example budget updates, technical requirements, supplier contracts, guest communications etc. 
  • You manage operational issues on a daily basis.
  • You secure that the story being told comes through in all media.

The position is a temporary position (two years) and is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
