Job Description

Right now we’re looking for a Product Compliance Specialist Who will Support the business teams to develop the Quality agenda for the categories/New Business in the region. That who will propose common priorities based on learnings and build quality competence to deliver products satisfying customer expectations in all aspects of democratic design. You will also sharing specialist knowledge about the product requirements in IKEA of Sweden (IoS) Specifications and support the Business teams and Suppliers on how to interpret and how to implement these requirements in the daily operations. As well, to follow up and verify that products comply with these requirements.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and facilitate training for Business teams and Suppliers to develop competence about IoS Specifications, testing, ways of working and compliance tools
  • Lead the implementation of IKEA Chemical strategy within purchasing, ensure that PLA action plan reflects the Supply Chain Action Plan for the Chemical Strategy and follow up implementation
  • Perform spot check in the frame of the Gate Checks routine to verify that the new products complies with documentation and CONNECT requirements.  As well, from time to time on project basis, to verify compliance on the running product range
  • Coach and Support the Business teams in daily operations and in evaluate new potential suppliers by addressing risks/risk mitigation connected to Product safety and Chemical Compliance
  • Mapping and perform risk assessment of critical chemical substances/materials and processes
  • Participate in the development of new IoS specification requirements, by securing input is given on potential impacts from a supply chain perspective
  • Contribute in developing and lead implementation of global product compliance working methods and tools, and co-ordinate local implementation
  • Contribute to secure the right competence level at the supplier regarding Connect responsible and Chemical Navigator
  • Support Quality reviewer on GO/NOGO (point: 1 PDOC, 2 Connect and 3 Special appendixes) 
  • Perform trouble-shooting when non-compliance to Safety & Health requirements has been found; be Risk Team member in case of Safety Alarms

Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

  • Experience in Food Production Processes and Quality Assurance: raw material production, procurement and manufacturing of the food supply chain.
  • Understanding of HACCP and Food safety management systems, Risks associated with Food and Food Regulations
  • Understanding of testing and test methods for Food as well as general understanding of the applicable regulatory environment
  • Knowledge for food packing materials (food often comes in “containers” that are in direct contact with it).
  • Strong experience in the GFSI certification (BRC, IFS, FSSC 22000) and FSMA Compliance.
  • Strong experience in Food Industry Standards and Certification.
  • A degree in Food science, Food Technology, or equivalent.
  • Food microbiology and food regulatory background would be advantageous
  • Knowing IKEA Product Safety & Health requirements, in particular in zero-tolerance areas, and Compliance processes (Plus)
  • Knowing  IKEA Product and chemical requirements and chemical substances in production processes and material (Plus)
  • Knowing IKEA Chemical strategy - Purchasing APL (Plus)
  • Knowing IKEA Purchasing Manual-Quality, risk assessment and mitigation of identified risks (Plus)
  • Knowing IKEA Quality for Life strategy and GO/NOGO Quality standard (Plus)
  • Knowledge of project management tools and auditing techniques
  • Good communications skill with fluent English
