Right now we're looking for a Graphic Designer, that someone who favors the simplicity of black and white, in the search for ways to communicate without a single word. Yet, is never speechless, but dives into collaboration development and togetherness in the assignment of global communication.
As Graphic Designer you will design and produce print & digital ready artwork for IKEA Communications assignments that presents the IKEA offer in a clear, simple and attractive way to the many consumers on the market. You will also need to combine art and technology to design and produce ready to print/publish artwork in accordance to IKEA’s graphical visual direction.
The assignment will include:
- Combine creativity, story-telling and new technology, to develop, create and produce clear and simple communication with a strong visual impact, that engages customers and enhance the IKEA offer.
- Generate ideas and contributes to the development of new communication concepts together with the assignor and the rest of the team.
- Create and produce new visual graphic elements to visualize ideas, storyboards, and concepts.
- Produce high quality artwork by combining text, copy, images and illustrations, both template and non-template based, in accordance to assignment guidelines and directive from assignor or Art Director.
- Develop and maintain good relations and excellent collaboration with all team members and stakeholders, within and outside IKEA Communication.
- Stay on top of all trends, apply the Customer Experience Map, and IKEA positioning and communication strategies and maintain best practices.
- Build and maintain good professional relationships ensuring close cooperation with the Project Leader, Art Director and the different work groups, assignors, co-workers and outsourced services within ICOM’s internal and external networks, as required per project.
- Contribute in proactively exploring and creating new ways of working, ranging from tools, methods and processes.
- Participate, contribute and ensure the purpose of your role is added in the decisions taken in the many groups you are part of.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we think you have to produce high quality artwork from text, copy, image and illustrations, both template and non- template based, in accrordance to assignment guidelines and directive from assignor or Art Director. You will also need to produce complete print and/or digital ready layouts in various digital formats, ensuring error-free designs before printing or publishing them.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Education and work experience in Graphic Arts, typography, artwork production and/or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience around packaging design and packaging communication can be a great asset.
- Advances skills using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign and Microsoft Office.
- Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles such as visual communication and design.
- Knowledge of page layout, print and digital media processes.
- Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to design work.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
