About the assignment
As Product Requirement Engineer you are an important contributor in the product development process and the creation of new products with customer satisfaction in mind. You are able to spread your technical knowledge further than your technical team of peers and create understanding for the requirement agenda. You will define and document the relevant product requirements as well as have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization and suppliers to secure successful implementation. 

About the job
As a Product Requirement Engineer your will work with the development of new products and improvements of the running range. You will work as part of the Kitchen & Dining team in the area of Front, Knobs and Handles. You will be responsible to identify and create product requirements and choose test methods for the products. You will also contribute to the creation of new and additional development tests needed for product validation that will contribute to a better quality, safer products with higher customer satisfaction. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we see that you have a university degree in engineering and experience working with requirements in the process of product development and product improvements. You have knowledge in materials such as solid wood and other board materials and related surface treatments as well as production methods.

You need to have good insight into specifications, test methods and being updated on changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. To be successful you need to be able to communicate and cooperate with a wide range of stakeholders like the development team, the purchasing organization and the suppliers.

You have excellent communication skills and the ability to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You have experience from product development and probably supply chain- and production knowledge and are skilled in requirement management and verification planning. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
