On top of that, we churn out a ton of content for social media, not to mention motion media and 3D work so cutting edge that it makes the folks in California sit up and take notice. So what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.

Right now we're looking for a Communication Development Manager.
Someone with strategic thinking and a collaborative mind, taking lead in communication. Someone with the flair for why and the wits for how. That someone with the passion to influence the IKEA communication landscape.

With this new role at IKEA Communications we start to build capabilities to lead and contribute with strategic communication leading to positive impact on business and people.

The Business areas at IKEA Communications has the responsibility to lead and develop effective and efficient communication to strengthen the IKEA Brand and create Business impact and thereby reaching the IKEA business objectives. The Communication Development Manager will work with the BA managers within IKEA Communications as well as with Communication stakeholders across IKEA to identify and develop new and more impactful communication with high focus on brand, range and products. Key part of the assignment will be to take ownership in planning of strategic communication assignments, lead these assignments within IKEA Communications from strategy to execution.
Parallel with this the role will be responsible to set the communication development agenda at IKEA Communications including but not limited to ways of working, competence allocations and organizational set-up. Identify opportunities for internal collaboration and across IKEA organizations.

In this role key tasks are:

Take lead in IKEA Communications for setting up the area of Communication development, in defining new ways of working and need of competences for IKEA Communications to be ready for the needs of tomorrow. Be a leading member from IKEA Communications in projects for strategic common communication across IKEA.

  • Be a strategic partner to Range & Supply and Core Business Franchise, driving a forward thinking plan for communication development, define opportunities and process integration together with external and internal communication partners.
  • Lead 360o assignments, putting together teams with strategy, planning, creative and production competences to secure creative height and excellence in execution leading to achieving world class communication
  • Contribute to a learning organization by identify and define ways to measure and follow-up communication.
  • Champion and safeguard that communication are aligned with the IKEA Direction, IKEA Range strategy and IKEA tone of voice.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A university degree in Communications, or Business Information (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in IKEA global communication and how it helps to strengthen the brand and increase the impact the business.
  • Ability to identify and contextualize business opportunities.
  • Extensive knowledge in IKEA Concept & IKEA Brand, including IKEA Brand values, copy and visual identity, and tone of voice.
  • Budget, project and stakeholder management.
  • An understanding of people-centric approaches and how to outline directions for engaging people.
  • Experience in Creative concept development.
  • Know how to brief and manage communication competences and project teams.
  • Strategic knowledge of multi-channel environment.
  • Understand how to segment audiences and strengthen key messages to support different audience needs and situations.
  • Have a solid network across IKEA in relation to both communication and business.
  • Be fluent in both spoken and written English.
