About the job

The prevention officer is a role that is responsible for legal compliance with the Working Conditions Act (ARBO) for the IKEA Delft Store and reports directly to the Store Manager. Your goal is to handle the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RIE), other health and safety related policies and act as the first focal point for both co-workers and management as well as and external companies regarding health and safety matters.

About the assignment

As a prevention officer, you will be responsible for varying tasks such as the preparation and execution of the Risk Inventory and Evaluation and implementing relevant actions. You also coordinate other health and safety related policies within the organisation. Additionally, you:

• Give advice to and work closely with various stakeholders such as the works council, the company doctor and other health and safety providers
   
• Advice co-workers and management on health and safety related issues.
   
• Signal risks in the areas of safety, health and wellbeing.
   
• Register and report accidents, near misses and occupational diseases.
   
• Coordinate the Company emergency response team.
