The task of the Packaging Solution Engineer is to develop optimal packaging solutions for IKEA Kitchen and Dining and the product range. This is done in close cooperation with product developers, product engineers and product communication responsible, to ensure that the solutions will work all the way from the supplier to the customer. The purpose of the packaging is to protect the product and sell it!
 

Job Description

• Develop and improve the packaging solution to meet demands on form, function, cost, quality and sustainability and make sure it works through the total value chain and the whole product lifecycle. 
• Be responsible for the technical packaging documentation, securing that the documentation is updated and correct according to IKEA Documentation Guideline and standards. 
• Identify and develop packaging improvement potentials. 
• Secure that the packaging solution meets all technical & legal requirements. 
• Verify the packaging solution during the product development phase. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you need to have analytical and creative skills and ability to transfer knowledge, concepts and ideas into packaging solutions. Since you will work with several different teams you need to have good communication ability, work in a proactive way and make things happen through involving and engaging people. 

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in packaging construction in terms of drawing technique, technical solutions and design for manufacturing. You have experience from tools like Artios and Solid Works. Furthermore, you have knowledge in packaging requirements and global packaging test methods and standards. You have a theoretical and practical knowledge about packaging and its impact in the value chain, from raw material to the co-worker and customer perspective.
