Job Description

The Archive and Collection team is working on a digitising project in order to make the IKEA Museum artefact collection digitally accessible and are looking for a registrar.

Your assignment, as registrar, within the project will be to document the collection and create unique digital records of all artefacts in our database system. To review facts, conduct certain research and maintaining the digital and physical structure lies also in the assignment. The main source to fact are the catalogues but the reference library is growing and it is key to have both eyes open on what is happening in IKEA and the world around us to put the knowledge into different context. The past is part of our future.

The environment is constantly changing and the energy is high. It is important that you like to work in a changing environment and feel inspired by the assignment.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you need to have previous experience as a registrar or working in a museum database. You are familiar with museum standards and ways of working. It is meritorious if you have a registrar training or degrees within ABM and information science.

You have good abilities in planning, structuring and follow up work. You are thorough and clear in all processes. You have advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office.

You are inspired by working in an environment with high energy and enjoy working together with others. You communicate in an open and straightforward manner and transform feedback into actions. You are a self starter and have an eye for what needs to be done. You are curious in finding better ways of working, and you are an excellent problem solver.

You are a team player who gets energy from working together with others and also are prepared to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. You lead by example in your daily work. Of course you share our passion for the IKEA Culture and Values, and the IKEA Concept!

We expect you to be fluent in both spoken and written English and Swedish.
