Can you really reach out to the whole world, while working in a tranquil idyll in the middle of Småland? In Älmhult you can. Älmhult, Sweden is home to IKEA Communications AB, aka ICOM. ICOM produces content for IKEA.com, which is visited around 2.3 billion times a year. We're also behind the IKEA catalogue with a yearly circulation of around 210 million copies. On top of that, we churn out a ton of content for social media, not to mention motion media and 3D work so cutting edge that it makes the folks in California sit up and take notice. So what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.

Right now we're looking for a Business Area Manager Digital Communication. Someone who loves all things digital, not to mention UX, creative ideas and digital platforms of all sorts! Someone who has a passion in content and consumer experience. That someone who can bring business, brand and people together.

The Digital Communication Business Area contribute to IKEAs growth by creation and production of digital communication; content, media and web editing & publishing, to further enhance the IKEA offer and its consumer experience. The business area is also responsible for creative resources such as copywriters, visual designers and experience designers. 

As Business Area Manager you will be a change driver to influence the Business & People Agenda to create an even better platform for IKEA communication. You will be leading managers and a business area with approximately 40 employees.

  • Find, identify and develop new business opportunities that creates long term value for ICOM and support the growth of IKEA.
  • Contribute to the ICOM Business plan and responsible to translate the change and growth drivers into key actions within the business area.
  • Participating and facilitating competence exchange within the industry.
  • Accountable for the relations and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing an up-to-date external network of production partners and sourcing of external resources.
  • Secure continuous development and innovation of optimal processes, production methods and tools with clearly defined goals and KPI’s.
  • Recruit, develop and secure succession of co-workers within the business area.
  • Create pre-conditions for a trustful and secure learning environment that supports the continuous development of co-workers.
  • Secure a healthy and well balanced working environment that enables co-worker engagement, team spirit and togetherness.
  • Demonstrate leadership by example in ways that express the IKEA values within and outside IKEA operations.
  • Responsible for budget of department and/or projects, forecasts and connected performance indicators, in close collaboration with assignors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • IKEA Brand and business knowledge
  • Consumer centric communication, preferably in a digital landscape
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, business administration or equivalent knowledge acquired elsewhere.
  • Experience of managing, leading and developing people, as well as planning and budget management experience.
  • Experience within digital media landscape.
  • Experience of brand concept and brand objectives.
  • Passion for IKEA product range and home furnishing.
  • Passionate about working in a fast-paced and future-oriented environment.
