Business Steering is a support function which purpose is to enable fact based decision making for the organisation.

About the job

As Data Scientist, you will combine your knowledge of statistics and mathematics with your business understanding and some software development skills to create insights and predictions by processing data from several sources communicating the results to our stakeholders. In this role you will be part of a Business Information & Analytics Team and have the possibility to affect and lead the way in performing data analysis in the future. You will report to Business Information Manager Monica Giselson- Olsson.

The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.

About the assignment

Your main responsibilities as Data Scientist are:
• Perform exploratory and predictive analysis both individually and in a team by collaborating with other data scientists, analysts, BI-experts, data architects.
• Be part of projects involved in challenging data tasks, as well as creating new ways of working within advanced data analysis using existing and new data sources, both internal and external.

About you

We believe you are a team player with great interest and knowledge for data science. You are comfortable in building models and applying algorithms to solve business problems. Your good communication skills enables you to build relationships with your stakeholders and translate your analysis results to their reality. You are familiar with SQL and it is a merit with experience from cloud platforms and distributed data analysis and/or visualization tools. If you have previously worked with forecasting of time series it is also a merit.

In the role of Data Scientist we expect you to have:
• Previous experience from a similar role, preferably from a multinational supply chain or a retail organization
• Deep knowledge of statistical analysis, probabilistic modelling and machine learning
• Programming skills in R or Python
• An academic degree in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or similar
