We are responsible for plan, purchase, operate and follow up the service execution of transports and services. Securing the needed logistics services capacity at the right time, with the right quality, at the right cost and in a sustainable way; to continuously contribute to the goal of having 100% satisfied IKEA customers. Transport & Logistical Services has a new dimension with responsibility for end-to-end Flow Development based on 3 pillars: Optimization, Planning and Performance.

Within Transport and Logistic Service Area North Europe we plan, purchase, operate and control transport of finished products from production units located in our area to all IKEA stores and warehouses worldwide. Our geographic scope of operations covers the raw materials flows ending in and product flows starting in: Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Russia. We are 130 passionate co-workers, located in Poland, Russia and Sweden.

The purpose of the job is to secure excellence in logistical operational performance, and it´s further development. By leading a team of transport and delivery planners in close cooperation and alignment with all relevant supply chain stakeholders. By contributing to reaching customer perceived availability at the lowest total cost.

About the assignment

As a Team Leader within transport and delivery planning you will have responsibility of the logistic flow performance for the team.  You will lead a team of Planners who will secure product availability to the customer at lowest possible total landed cost by the consolidation of orders into shipments.

You will manage a team of Transport & Delivery Planners. That means that you will coach and develop your co-workers to secure right competence and knowledge transfer within the business. In that you will also actively support the team in daily operations and work in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders (carriers, suppliers).

You will:

  • Lead in a way that IKEA culture and our Values become an everyday reality.
  • Develop the team to have the competence for the business need today and tomorrow
  • Secure the stakeholder management on a team level. Act as a role model for collaboration and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders and to represent Transport in relevant network and forums.
  • Be responsible to validate and implement new working routines and follow-ups.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the transport planning and delivery process based on our global working methods

To be successful in this role you need to:

  • 5+ years working experience and at least 3 years proven leadership experience.
  • University degree in logistics, economics business administration or relevant working experience.
  • Good knowledge of supply chain management and logistics.
  • Act as a role model for collaboration togetherness and change management
  • Constantly inspire and empower you co-workers to perform the best and to continuously develop.
  • Good communication and be a quick learner.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
