Digital Innovation – think big start small

Digital Innovation within New Business & Innovation has the objective to capture opportunities that digital technologies make possible and turn them into added value though out the value chain. We want to explore next generation emerging technology to find new opportunities and new capabilities that will speed up and strengthen the product development process so that we can deliver better products at lower costs, reach and interact more with the many people where they are and create a positive impact on people, society and the planet. We test and try, learn to experiment and experiment to learn, we start small and think big to truly make a difference in an environment where our humanistic values are the foundation.

We are now looking for you who is interested in joining this exciting mission with the task to both lead and work hands-on in Digital Innovation areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering and Science, Blockchain, Robotics, Programmable Materials, Fog computing & Edge network and the Internet of Things. You will investigate and explore these emerging digital innovation areas specified towards the needs of IKEA. You bring the outside in and are committed to innovate in close collaboration with our many stakeholders and partners. You secure that the initiatives, projects related to these exploration areas are meeting set objectives and goals, delivering digital insights and solutions through Minimal Viable Products to various functions within IKEA of Sweden.

We are currently looking for candidates for the following positions:

• Data engineer

• Data scientist

• Data steward

• Digital front-end, back-end or full-stack engineers

• Maker of things

• Human-centered AI interaction designer

You have a relevant academic Degree, working as a professional or post-doc. Practicing and have a keen understanding in one of the following areas: artificial intelligence, data analytics, data science, data engineering, machine learning, robotics, programmable materials, Blockchain, interaction design, human-computer interaction, hardware and software, networks, back-end, front-end or full-stack engineering.

As a person, you are curious and a strategic thinker. You are determined and full of will power and at the same time humble, and straightforward. You are hungry for knowledge, driven by innovative development and have an active mindset for exploration and execution. You are holistic in thinking and communicative in transferring know-how. You are skilled in building trustful relationships across organisations and empowering others. You are goal-oriented, and you have a desire to deliver results with a holistic view. You should be comfortable working within different timelines.

We work with people from all over the world, using English as our common business language, so fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.

IKEA of Sweden is located in Älmhult, Sweden. We are responsible for developing and supplying the global IKEA range. This means we work throughout the whole value chain - from supplier to customer. From the needs and wants of the many people, through product development and sourcing of raw materials, to a product’s end-of-life.

Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö, and an IKEA shuttle bus runs back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.

The position is temporary for two years initially.
