Sustainability project leader, Category Area Wood & Fibres
We want to have a positive impact on people and the environment and lead the development of sustainable and affordable products from long term responsibly produced materials.
As Sustainability project leader, you will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of the Category Natural Fibre approach to handmade production. You will, together with the business team, define what a sustainable and long-term approach to handmade production is for the future.
You will also be an active member of the Wood & Fibres Sustainability Matrix Group and contribute to the sustainability agenda development by leading and/or contributing to global development projects, and you will actively support suppliers to implement IWAY and make it integral part of their management systems in close alignment with the Purchase Operations Areas.
You main responsibilities will include:
Together with the business team, improve and develop the piece rate system in order to move towards fair wages.
Develop social assessment criteria and reporting routines to support category business decision and communication with HFBs when making range decisions.
Co-ordinate the application process to get approval for all new products and production set-ups, whenever home based workers/weaving centres are involved as per existing approval process.
Support suppliers to improve and develop their way of working with homeworkers and/or weaving centres by clarifying category requirements and facilitate best practice sharing.
In co-operation with sustainability compliance team, lead community involvement activities in the weaving villages to increase awareness and knowledge of IWAY and beyond IWAY labour and social related aspects.
Identify and work together with local stakeholders in South East Asia to address wider issues concerning homeworkers in the region.

Knowledge/Experience you have:
A proven record of consistently delivering strong results in developing the business
You are goal oriented and business-minded with a strong understanding of IKEA ways of working
You are skilled in communicating and partnering with co-workers across all levels of the organisation.
You have a structured approach in analysis and shown strong project management skills.
You are able to prioritise and take decisions.
A relevant university degree (sustainability or engineering) would be an advantage.
You have the capability to perform analysis and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations
Are able to build relationship built on trust, to support long-term partnership
