IKEA Customs Service Centre secure the operational customs work and acts as global super users for the import and export declarations used in 15 European countries. Our task is to keep the customer in mind at all stages of our distribution, so our customers will find what they came for in the store, and they will receive their complete delivery, neat and clean, undamaged and on time. Customs Services Centre report to IKEA Supply AG in Pratteln were the line manager is located.

Right Now we are looking for a Team Leader, who are passionate about leading and developing people. As a team leader, you lead by example and feel devoted to the responsibility that comes with having direct reporters. You are result oriented, curious and happy to delegate responsibility to enable your co-workers to grow. You have a genuine interest in internal and external rules and regulations and willingness to follow them without losing a holistic view. You are good at building trustful relations with people and have the ability to communicate your opinion.

The assignment will include:

  • Responsible for both business operations and people, manage centralized import activities in compliance with internal and external regulations and with a high level of internal control
  • Lead and develop your team within the CSC organization in accordance with Leading Business & People Together
  • Develop customs processes. Lead, coach and develop co-workers according to our Human Resource Idea and IKEA values.
  • Responsible for a group of devoted, competent co-workers and report to Customs Manager Europe.
  • Ensure competence level in accordance with responsibilities including back-up and succession planning
  • Ensure that your team activities are organized in an optimal way for efficiency and internal control
  • Establish KPI’s and communicate in the organization as well as monitor the state
  • Ensure efficient and reliable handling of central customs related documents and certificates.
  • Continuously evaluate current ways of working, identify control weaknesses, develop solutions and implement improvements
  • In your team support the establishment of one common annual business plan for customs operations and deliver agreed activities
  • Ensure efficient CSC support during external audits.
  • Contribute to regional/global development via for example projects and establishment of working methods
  • Take active part in the development of the customs operations IT landscape and provide support in the establishment of an IT/IS Strategy
  • Provide IT Solution user support in regards to import and export
  • Actively identify and manage risks related to import and export

Qualifications

To be successful in this role

  • 5+years working experience with logistics, transport or related degree
  • Experience of import and export from a global environment/projects.
  • Experience from dealing with external authorities, working in a process oriented organization
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire people, have the ambition to grow with IKEA.
  • Good understanding and knowledge about supply chain operations
  • Knowledge of Customs is plus (Including law, tax and so on)
  • Good communication skill and presentation skill
  • Fluent in both Writing and oral English
