Job Description

We are looking for candidates with the aim to become Sourcing Developer in the near future, ready to join us within the next 12 months!


In the Sourcing Developer role you will be setting up the optimal sourcing conditions and act as a bridge between an IKEA business area and different material categories and purchasing offices. You are cost conscious and business minded. You are accountable for sourcing activities in the product development process – all the way from the initial idea until the moment when the new article reaches the IKEA store. You contribute to the product development team with insights about the supplier base, cost structures, production methods, material choices and production capacity – always being business minded and with a holistic business approach. In this role you report to the Sourcing Development Manager that sits in the Business area management group.

Assignment

As a Sourcing Developer, you will:
-Be responsible for the purchasing and logistic cost development of one part of the IKEA global range.
-Lead projects like competitive biddings and other projects aiming to eliminate sourcing and production costs.
-Be part of Product Offer Development (POD) team responsible to develop and implement the action plan for new articles (sales, gross margin, total cost, sustainability, quality, availability)
- Secure total supply chain perspective, including selecting optimal material and production technique, in product development process trough own competence and through involving right competence needed, analyze, evaluate and draw conclusions
-Together with the POD team be accountable for performance of running range (sales, gross margin, purchase and logistics cost, Sustainability, quality, availability)
- Monitor and take lead when there are opportunities/deviations in relation to plan

Qualifications

To be a successful Sourcing Developer, you should:
- have minimum three years of experience within related field
- have project leadership experience
- have experience in leading business and cooperating in a team
- have knowledge of Supply chain and value chain analysis methodology
- be self-motivated and result-orientated but always respect people opinions
- be structured and able to take business decision based on facts
- be aware of the IKEA corporate culture and values, and stand behind it. Innovation, simplicity, action, cost consciousness and democratic design etc.
- have knowledge of at least one material or production industry
- preferably have university degree in technology, business administration or corresponding knowledge
- be a good communicator and be fluent in English, both spoken and written
- do business with a holistic view, always having the customer in mind.
- have the capability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver results
- be capable to lead and deliver results through involving and engaging people in remote locations
- be able to analyze and draw conclusions which contribute to the total business
- have the capability to perform risk assessment and scenario planning
