The Strategic Dynamic Marking (SDM) Program is a Business Development Program running on appointment from the Strategic Innovation Council. The program will develop new innovative business capabilities that add IKEA value within the areas printing and handling of local compliance marking. The scope also includes innovating technical product communication solutions for the future.
 
For one of the program’s key projects, “Automated Local Labelling”, we are now looking for a Development Leader Packaging. In this role you will be a key person, leading analysis of the IKEA range packaging, leading the activities to adapt packaging for automation and coordinating packaging automation activities.

Job Description

As a Development Leader Packaging you will be responsible for:

 - Leading the work to analyse IKEA packaging and handling material, from an automation perspective.
 - Defining which packaging that is suitable for print automation as well which packaging that need adaption.
 - Working with the respective HFB, Packaging Development to define and drive changes needed.
 - Be part of development of new packaging technologies enabling automation, while still considering cost, reliability and sustainability.

This is a temporary assignment for 2 years.

Qualifications

To join us in this mission, we are looking for someone with wide packaging knowledge and experience. You know the impact of packaging in the value chain, from raw material to co-worker and customer perspective. You also have deep knowledge in packaging construction regarding drawing, technical solutions and manufacturing adapted design. Packaging requirements, test methods and standards are also familiar to you.

As a person you are driven by continuous improvements and by working a technical solution to enhance business and customer value. You are open minded and able to view a technical solution from several perspectives, to innovate and enable new functionality. You love to work in a constantly changing environment and possess operational and tactical thinking alike.

Experience from adapting packaging for automation is considered as advantage.

Success in this position is achieved together with others. You will be coordinating a small group of people, without formal leadership. Leadership abilities and experience is crucial. On top of this you need analytical and creative skills and an ability to transfer knowledge, concepts and ideas into solutions. Apart from your own team, you will work with several different teams. Good communication skills and the ability to work proactively, making things happen, are key qualities.

You have experience from working in 3D tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Artios CAD), as well as in PIA.

You are also fluent in English, spoken as well as written.
