About the job

Financial Planning & Reporting, which was established during 2017 as part of the Finance department in Delft, is a team of 5 enthusiastic and dedicated professionals. To stay ahead and be prepared for the future, we are looking for a new colleague to join our team.

The assignment of the team is to lead the financial planning and reporting process of Inter IKEA Franchise and to provide valuable management information, thereby:

  • Continuously providing and communicating one version of the financial truth.
  • Supporting the business to reach financial goals and frames in a coherent way.
  • Playing an active part in budget and forecasting processes
  • Act as financial support in various business related projects

Financial Planning & Reporting is responsible for the development and execution of the financial planning process with a focus on reporting. The department coordinates the budget process, the bi-monthly financial and management reporting. 


About the assignment

As a Financial Controller you are an IKEA ambassador and use your knowledge and your experience to support the business from a financial perspective towards growth, optimal performance and sustained long term profitability. You interact in an inspiring, supportive and challenging way in line with the IKEA objectives and values.

Your key stakeholders are Business Navigators, department and unit managers, project leaders and Inter IKEA Finance functions such as accounting and group finance. On a regular basis you will be working with:

  • Core Business Franchise financial and management reports.
  • Core Business Franchise budget and financial goals.
  • Bi-monthly financial performance report.
  • Supporting in Business Navigation for business units.
  • Monthly unit follow-up reports.
  • Ad-hoc reporting & analysis.
  • Planning process & cycle.
  • Project portfolio management tools and methods.

There might be 5-10% travel required.


About you

You are a natural leader and influencer with excellent communication skills towards all levels of the organisation. You are an energetic team player who takes initiative and has a high drive and motivation with a positive attitude. You are curious and open for a continuously changing environment and enjoy giving meaning to complexity with a solution-focused approach. You take ownership of your deliverables and have strong analytical skills. And of course, you have the ability to manage confidentiality without exception.

What more are we looking to find in you?

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in reporting, financial controlling and/audit experience from large multinational company
  • A holistic view of financial controlling – how it influences and is influenced by the broader business environment
  • Solid knowledge of financial and reporting processes and tools (SAP BPC, Qlikview, Excel, etc).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • You recognise yourself in the IKEA values and you have an interest in people’s life at home.
