Job Description

We are now looking for talents to join IKEA of Sweden in the next 6 to 12 months as Product Requirement Engineers. This is an advert to build up a pool of candidates whom we will invite for an interview day in Älmhult in April 2018.

IKEA of Sweden is a truly global and technically innovative environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of product types as well as test and work with cutting edge materials and face many technical challenges every day. As a Product Requirement Engineer, you are responsible for the specification of products during its full lifecycle. Your task is to identify and create product requirements and to choose test methods for the product area. You will also contribute to the creation of new and additional development tests needed for product validation that will contribute to better and safer products with higher customer satisfaction. You will work with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.

About the assignment

As Product Requirement Engineer you are an important contributor in the product development process and the creation of new products with customer satisfaction in mind. You are able to spread your technical knowledge further than your technical team of peers and create understanding for the requirement agenda. You will define and document the relevant product requirements as well as have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization and suppliers to secure successful implementation. You need to have good insight into specifications and test methods and keep updated on changes in legislations and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with both new product developments as well as with improvements of the running range.

Qualifications

Are you driven by a constant urge to improve, develop and challenge? Would you like to use your solid technical knowledge and experience to create new, surprising and/or improved solutions for a better everyday life for the many people? Then this may just be for you!

You have a University Degree in Engineering and solid technical experience from a relevant field. You have experience in product development and/or creating and documenting product requirements, as well as knowledge of certification and testing. Preferably you have been working with the following material/materials:
• Metal
• Wood
• Textiles

You have excellent communication skills and the ability to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Experience from working with tests and verification of products is a requirement as well as the ability to understand, translate and apply technical requirements in the product development. You also have knowledge about implementing new products into the supply-chain. You are skilled in requirement development and verification methods.

The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day.
