At IKEA of Sweden (IoS), in Älmhult, we create the global product range and steer global purchasing based on our business idea to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. Overall, the Need Planners role is to secure availability of the product range by collaborating effectively with all supply chain partners in order to reach the goal of the lowest possible supply chain cost.

Right now we are looking for a Need planner to join our Business area Textiles.

Job Description

Your assignment
As a Need Planner you have the opportunity to work on a global scene, through and with supply colleagues around the world to achieve common goals! You are globally responsible for balancing the customer need against supplier capacities. This means that you create an executable supply plan for a given range and ensure that orders are exported according to this. Furthermore, you plan goods flow in the product change process (both phasing in and out of products), communicate and handover this plan to the purchasing operations organization and regional supply teams for execution. The Need Planner leads initiatives together with regional supply teams in order to secure availability for our customers.

To be successful in this role we believe that you: 
•Have a university degree in business/economics/logistics and preferably 2-3 years of relevant planning experience
•Are comfortable in taking the lead and in motivating and inspiring others, and you do this with a clear and convincing way of communicating
•Have a problem solving approach with strong analytical skills and the ability to think conceptually
•Have the ability to work with a holistic perspective, from supplier to customer, as well as the capability to be in details
•Enjoy working towards fixed time frames and deadlines, driving assignments remotely
•Lead by example and have the ability to bring out the best in other team members
•Are fluent in English, both written and verbally
