About you
We believe that you have experience in handling product quality, compliance and chemical requirements, acquired at suppliers or other manufacturers, laboratories, consultancy companies or governmental authorities. You have knowledge about Quality Management, consumer product legislation concerning
health and safety e.g. local legislation and/or European Union chemical related product safety legislation. You are a person with strong communication skills, you can communicate in a simple and clear way. We are looking for someone who has solid knowledge about product Quality and Compliance, knowledge of
material, product requirements and production.

We also believe that you have:

  • Experience in collaborating with suppliers

  • University degree in quality management, chemistry/chemical engineering or similar

  • Alternatively, technical background and significant experience working with Quality/compliance management or chemical issues

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written 

  • Very good computer software skills (MS Office applications).


About the job
The Product Compliance Specialist is responsible for sharing knowledge about the product requirements in
specifications and support the Business Teams and Suppliers on how to interpret and how to implement these requirements in the daily operations. As well, to follow up and verify that products comply with these requirements.


About the assignment

  • Leading and facilitating trainings for Business teams and Suppliers to develop competence about specifications, testing, ways of working and compliance tools

  • Leading the implementation and realisation of IKEA Chemical strategy within purchasing

  • Verifying that new and existing products comply with IKEA documentation and specifications

  • Coaching and supporting the Business Teams in daily operations and evaluate new potential suppliers in relation to product safety and chemical compliance

  • Mapping and performing risk assessment of critical chemical substances/materials and processes

  • Participating in the development of new specification requirements, by securing input is given on potential impacts from a supply chain perspective

  • Contributing in developing and leading implementation of global product compliance working methods and tools, and co-ordinate local implementation

  • Contributing to secure the right competence level at the supplier regarding Product Compliance

  • Supporting IKEA auditors responsible for verifying suppliers’ production and quality processes regarding Products Compliance competence

  • Performing trouble-shooting when non-compliance to Safety & Health requirements has been found
