Right now we're looking for an HR & Competence Manager who can be a strong contributor in the Management Team in the overall leadership of ICOM. That someone with the ability in strategic thinking and dares to be different in strategic challenges, staying relevant to the many people, today and tomorrow. Someone who enjoys the business as well as helping people to grow and develop.

As HR & Competence Manager you are accountable for bringing people and business together to create excellent and sustainable performance. In this role you will actively contribute to the growth of business by leading competence development and by working in partnership with all businesses and other support functions.

The HR department at IKEA Communications supports our managers in the People core processes at IKEA,
Building Competence, Talent, Succession & Diversity, Great Place to Work and Leadership & Inclusion, in order to develop a strong collaboration with business.

The assignment will include:

  • Lead the HR team and ensure that the HR strategies are executed in the most effective and efficient way in order to fulfill the purpose of the HR function.
  • Actively work in partnership with business leaders to contribute to business performance, with focus on leadership and competence development, and by securing the HR basic processes.
  • Lead and drive the HR agenda including the Competence Priorities and ensure that the HR plan is implemented and anchored in the business.
  • Influence and motivate management team members to continuously develop leadership capabilities within their function according to business needs, as well as contributing in the development of the global People agenda.
  • Support the building of business competence with focus on Core Competencies and seniority, together with business leaders.
  • Ensure that IKEA Communications is known as an attractive place to work and positioned as a preferred employer in the industry.
  • Together with the business leaders, secure an up-to-date succession process.
  • Being a good example of the IKEA values within and outside IKEA, and help to safeguard and promote the IKEA culture.
  • Driving and supporting change on both a business and organizational level.
  • Responsible for HR related agreements and co-operation with the unions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we think you are motivated by leading business through people, demonstrating leadership capabilities and acting as a role model for the IKEA values in your daily work. You have a strong belief in the individual´s potential and their ability to grow and develop. You are strategic, tactical and operational thinking, goal and solution oriented as well as ambitious.

You also have:

  • Proven management and leadership experience as well as working with complex problem analysis and solutions in large organizations.
  • Documented experience to work on a strategic business agenda: adding value to business strategies and having the ability to lead global HR/competence assignments.
  • Ability to translate business needs in HR solutions.
  • Ability to be a natural leader and skilled in change management.
  • Experience in creating and implementing strategic plans and following up goals.
  • Business understanding and proven ability to have made a difference by positively influencing the business directly.
  • Ability to identify need for and drive change within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trustful relations.
