About the job

As a Product Development Engineer you will utilize your technical knowledge to provide smart technical solutions that will simplify, create wellbeing and save time and money for our customers. You will turn your knowledge and expertise into innovative solutions that will support people to live a more sustainable life at home. You will be responsible for taking the lead in securing we have all the requirements that are involved with defining and developing new product concepts related to water solutions. 

The Product Development Engineer is also responsible for leading the technical aspects of product development from assigned projects on behalf of our Home Furnishing Businesses through the Innovate and Create solutions step of the Develop New Solutions process. The first step is a feasibility study based on high level concept descriptions that will help to determine the necessary capabilities for further development into final products including creation of advanced prototypes.

In this role you will be responsible to drive the dialogue with leading development partners in their field of expertise, and ensure we deliver on the technology requirements needed to support the development of products and solutions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we see that you have an engineering background with experience in development connected to water (reduce, recycle, clean, harvest energy, make available etc.). You are determined and driven by innovation with a problem solving approach built on curiosity, courage to try new solutions and explore the unknown. You have the capability to build strong relations with all stakeholders. You are passionate about creating the best technical solutions for the customer at the right price with the right quality, beautiful design and focus on sustainability.


Furthermore we see that you have knowledge in:

- Strong understanding of product construction and design;
- Understanding of different materials and techniques used in connection to water;
- Ability to turn your knowledge into innovative product solutions:
- Supply Chain - Cost Drivers, Handling of Goods, Raw material
- Project specific technical knowledge (Product requirements, Market, Customer, Technical solutions and innovation);
- Engineering knowledge (Drawing technique, 3D models, Material, Production, Verification, Construction);
- Good knowledge of Project management methodology (e.g. Task planning, Time, Resource, Cost planning and KPI's);
- Relevant IT tools knowledge level (Solid Works, Pia, PLUS, Project Management tool, etc.);
- Knowledge of how to integrate digital technology into furniture design is a bonus.
