About the assignment

Right now we are looking for a New Business Development Leader within the New Business Project team that will focus on innovative solutions when it comes to water. The New Business Development Leader is an impactful and challenging position creating and leading the business case follow up on ideas and initiatives that are derived from IKEA exploration processes that you are a part of, and anchoring these business cases in strategic business plans and existing IKEA Business Area product development processes. The position reports to the New Business Projects Manager.

About the job

 The New Business Development Leader is responsible for: 

- Driving the agenda of how we can impact peoples lives by looking into the future of water solutions;
- Defining strategic business cases for the assigned new business project, based upon IKEA exploration input, the market situation, Customer needs, sourcing capabilities, competitors, resources and overall IKEA goals;
- Communicate and anchor the business case solutions within the broader IKEA with a special focus on the IKEA Business Area stakeholders;
- Conduct feasibility studies within agreed areas to come up with possible solutions that will have the possibility to live up to revolutionary & Disruptive Democratic Design solutions;
- People and resource management within the assigned new business project.

Qualifications

To deliver in this role, the New Business Development Leader should have: 

- Business, material and product development knowledge at a strategic through operational level;
- Strong leadership skills – inspiring, influencing, connecting, coaching and developing specialists and other leaders;
- Insights into customer needs and behaviour, design, style and trends;
- Deep understanding of the IKEA value chain elements: product development, supply and retail;
- A strong drive to deliver and seeing things through;
- The capability to imagine the ‘what can be’ situation and passionately share this;
- A strong connection and motivation for the IKEA mission: creating a better everyday life for the many people;
- Strong networking and influencing skills to engage a variety of stakeholders;
- Excellent business planning, process management, implementation and budget management skills;
- The capacity to steer and work in a developing and changing environment.
