About the assignment

As Engineering Support for Appliances, you will be responsible to support the engineering team with administration, certification, documentation and verification activities. You will help to secure that product documentation is up-to-date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards. You will also contribute to securing that our products are compliant in all markets through adequate knowledge of product laws and standards and certification schemes.

About the job

As an Engineering Support for Appliances, you will work closely with the engineers in the product development teams as well as to have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization, suppliers and third party test laboratories to secure for the successful implementation. You will be working with several teams and product areas in parallel. You will be having good insight into IKEA specifications and test methods and keep them updated on changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas. You will work with documentation for new product developments as well as with improvements in the running range.

Qualifications

We believe that you are highly committed and self-driven person. You have a university degree in Engineering or equivalent. Experience in working with product development and/or creation and maintenance of product documentation. You will have advantage if you have experience in working with kitchen and dining products and applications, or electrics and electronics. Your knowledge in 3D drawings and SolidWorks will be considered as an added advantage. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You have basic supply chain knowledge and are skilled in requirement management and verification planning.

Furthermore you have strong communication skills and the ability to create confidence and build relations. You are self-motivated and a goal- and delivery oriented person with a passion for details.

Additional Information

IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.

The position is temporary for two years, and located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day.
