Business Developer - Packaging Development, IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult

IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA store with home furbishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduce 2,000 new products in the IKEA stores. The total range is almost 10,000 products. 

At packaging development we develop and implement the packaging solution according to the global requirements and guidelines, and the local needs. We ensure optimal quality deliveries to the IKEA customers while finding the right balance between, packaging cost, packing productivity, etc. A current focus within our area is to secure that we develop packaging solutions, capabilities and competences in the packaging area to meet the future needs in a multi-channel environment, a rapidly growing sales channel for IKEA.

Job Description

About the assignment
The scope of this assignment is wide and has a focus on the multi-channel e-commerce customers. All (Multi-channel) e-commerce customers should be met in consistent way according to the IKEA principles and requirements.
This is done by taking ownership for the packaging approach in all units in the region of responsibility, aligning it with the necessary stakeholders,
We coordinate the purchasing (during development, and implementation of new solutions) of packaging through the agreed channels. For example, by providing ICOMP the necessary information to proceed with the RFQ and coordinating the handover of the RFQ result to the purchasing unit.
In addition to working together with Packaging Development in global development projects, testing and implementing new solutions, we also drive regional improvement projects.
We also need to develop packing SOP connected to top damaged articles, document and share best practices between sites & regions
There is also a need for organising and running train the trainer trainings.
Consistency is key, so we take a similar approach independent if it’s INGKA, IKANO or other ROIG.

About the job
In order to be successful in this role, we’d like to see that you have:
•    Good knowledge of IKEA Strategic Landscape
•    Good understanding of IKEA Business model and IKEA Business model for growth
•    Deep understanding of relevant Packaging Plans
•    Good understanding of how your everyday work adds customer value by delivering to Democratic Design
•    Deep knowledge of industry and market specific conditions and macro-economic trends
•    Good knowledge of IKEA Business Year cycle and Governance structure
•    Interest of people's life at home; energy, drive and commitment to deliver better product for the many people
•    Highly interested in understanding the markets we are working in as well as the reality of production
•    Desire to find new business opportunities and to make it happen through engaging and motivating people
•    Interest and drive to find common interests and agenda, to build trust and partnership to reach common goals

In addition we believe you have:
•    A good technical knowledge about packaging techniques and materials.
•    Capability to deliver results through involving and engaging people
•    Ability to lead business with a holistic view; always act with the Customer, Supplier, Total IKEA and Total Cost Development in mind
•    Multi-channel activity experience, store or logistic experience

Qualifications

Additional Information

IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English. The position is permanent and located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
