Business Area Living room & Workspaces is a big part of IKEAs product range, and we try in every case to challenge ourselves to develop our ways of working in order to meet the needs of the many people. The Business Area runs many product development projects and is now looking to find a Project Controller with great ability to lead and develop how we work with Project & Range management in our business!

As Sourcing Developer you will act as the bridge between the product development team and the Categories in the purchasing organisation. From that position you lead and secure total supply chain perspective for a range of products and make sure that both production and customer perspective is considered in the products. You are responsible for sourcing activities in the product development process and ensures that product development is in line with suppliers’ production capabilities. Together with the Categories and our suppliers you will work to optimise our value chain so that we can develop and produce better products at lowest total cost for the many people.

Assignment
• You will work together with Business stakeholders in the Business Area and with Categories to find the best business setup with lowest total cost as goal
• Evaluating material and technique choices related to cost, capacity, quality and sustainability securing total supply chain perspective for our products
• Leading sourcing activities in the product development process and secure the development on the factory floor
• Actively monitoring performance of NEWs and Running range and act upon deviations
• Communicating purchase needs and priorities to our Categories and plan production capacities
• Securing that each product has a correct landed price to the Retail organisation at lowest total cost.

Is this your next challenge?

We believe that you have a solid purchasing background with a proven track record and a good knowledge of the global market and supply chain management. As a base you have a university degree in Technology, Business Administration or corresponding knowledge. Since you will take tactical as well as strategic decisions to steer the operations, a good knowledge of material, product cost and production is needed. Good negotiation and problem solving skills is also crucial.

You have leadership skills and it is an advantage if you have experience from working as Project Leader for various projects. As a person you are highly motivated, decisive, analytical and have a strong drive to find new business opportunities. You have the ability to build trust and partnership to reach common goals and act based on high moral and ethical principles.

You will be based in Älmhult, in an inspiring environment, based on creativity and innovation, which gives you the opportunity to work and interact with people from all around the world. The assignment includes traveling and you need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
