Product Requirement & Compliance Specialists within the area of chemistry, IKEA of Sweden

Product Requirements & Compliance (PR&C) leads and designs processes to secure sellable products. We define product requirements and enable verification and monitoring of compliance. We strengthen competence regarding safety and health requirements during product development and product improvement.

Now we are looking for Product Requirement and Compliance Specialists for the chemistry team for the following areas;

• Surface coatings and coverings
• Toys
• Polymeric materials

Job Description

As a Product Requirement and Compliance Specialist you will provide specialist support, and together with the product development teams, set pre-conditions to secure safe and healthy products that comply with market requirements and standards that fulfil or even exceed customer expectations in all our sales markets.

Your assignment will be to:
Take the leadership for gathering information externally about existing and proposed product requirements for existing and future life at home products.
Lead the development of product requirements and secure that they are documented and communicated in a clear and simple way.
Support the product development teams with competence development activities and implementation of product requirements.
Secure that we have procedures to show compliance.
Contribute in the continuous improvement work in the IKEA requirement and compliance process.
Share your competence, experience and learning’s with colleagues.
Establish your internal and external network needed to succeed in your assignment.

Qualifications

We believe you have a university degree in chemistry or similar field. Preferably we see that you have specific experience from working within any of the below areas:


Surface coatings and coverings: Knowledge and experience from the surface coating and/or adhesive industry, e.g. industrial wood coating.

Toys: Knowledge of chemical content and risks in various materials and knowledge in or experience from work related to e.g. the EU toy safety directive and chemical risk assessments. Experience from standardization work is considered as an additional qualification

Polymeric materials: Knowledge of chemical content and risks related to specifically polymeric materials of various kind. Experience from work related to recycled polymeric materials or food-contact materials is considered as additional qualifications.

Experience from regulatory work and product requirements/compliances related work are considered as additional qualifications

To succeed you need to be able to navigate in a complex international organization, taking leadership and responsibility within your assignment. You have the ability to communicate in a clear and simple way with experts and non-experts. You are driven by a strong curiosity and have a desire to find better ways together with others, always with the business and our customers in focus. Since we are working in an international environment you need to be strong in communicating in English.
