About us

As a part of the new established department Logistics Development a key function Distribution Network Design has been established to support/drive improvement in the current and future Logistics/Distribution
Network.

The function will manage and visualise Supply chain flows, cost and capacities with the Lama soft/ Supply Chain Guru Software as the key tool.

About the job

The role of the Distribution Network Analyst is to deliver the analysis and conclusion that will contribute to IKEA’s growth by having the right fulfilment capacities available in time and at the right place. The role
focus on securing and optimisation of the long-term distribution network road map in EU, as well as creating and developing logistics principles to be used in the network. You will be working in a Global team of Supply and Distribution Network Analysts that will be closely connected to the Business and Operations to drive Optimization and Improvement of the Supply chain Network

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Create the Models (e.g. with Supply Chain Guru) and run optimisation and simulations to identify the best central fulfilment for EU

  • Collect all plans from the Multichannel Networks plans (from Retailers) to align and create a complete EU network design proposal

  • Maintain the EU model and frequently adjust based on new insights and planning data

  • Analysis and conclusion for individual fulfilment capacities as well as total distribution network.

  • Lead network optimisation and simulation activities in the EU central fulfilment network

  • Establish and implement guidelines (e.g. design principles) and ways of working

  • Lead and Support both Regional and Global Network Optimization/Simulation Projects 

About the assignment

We see that you have Network Modelling experience (The distribution network analyst works directly in SC guru, running optimisation and simulations. This person must be the expert to work with data and propose a
plan, as well as collaborating with all Multi channel network teams in the markets)

  • Proven working knowledge with Supply Chain Guru (modelling and application) 3-5 Years

  • Mathematics and analytical skills

  • Proven skills in project management

  • Good understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics Strategy and Operations

  • Proven record of consistently meeting agreed time line and goals over a number of years

  • Can explain complex systems in an understandable way to a wide stakeholder group

  • Excel and SQL working knowledge
