The IKEA Museum is the story of IKEA. In the past, in the present and into the future. Located in Älmhult, Sweden, the IKEA Museum opened in June 2016. We offer visitors the opportunity to experience and explore the history and development of the IKEA business from a number of different perspectives.

Understanding life at home is at the core of our operations. Our aim at the IKEA Museum is to study our heritage, discover new knowledge and share our insights and views on global issues in design, innovation, entrepreneurship and everyday life at home. Do you want to join us on this journey?

We are now looking for a Team Leader Guest Service to join us at IKEA Museum.

Do you have a passion for the visitor and to give service? Do you love to see colleagues develop and grow? Then you might be the person we are looking for! You will be working in the museum greeting the visitors in the reception, give guided tours in the exhibition and help the customers in the museum shop.

Your main assignment is to take care of our visitors in the museum and lead the daily operations in the Guest Service Team. That includes greeting the visitors at the information desk, helping the customers in the museum shop, and also to give guided tours in the museum if requested. The museum also invites and cooperates with schools and students, and you will be part of supporting their visit and learning experience.

You lead, build and develop our great Guest Service team and help them develop to their full potential. You will also develop and implement processes that support an efficient way of working.

You will have the possibility to, in addition to your assignment as Team Leader Guest Service, take on challenging projects or responsibilities to support the Operations Manager in securing the Visitor Experience in the museum.

The environment is constantly changing and the energy is high. It is important that you like to work in a changing environment and feel inspired by the assignment.

We are looking for you who have a passion for service, and love to meet our visitors. To succeed in this role you need to have previous experience of leading others. You have a strong interest in museums, home furnishing and design, and you have the ability to share an inspiring story with others.

As a leader you are driven and have the ability to build trustful relationships. You communicate in a clear and inspiring way, and you lead by example in your everyday work. You have the ability to transform feedback into actions. You have solid experience in change management, and the ability to inspire and motivate your team in the change process. You have the ambition, potential and the ability to grow in to a future assignment at Management team level.

You enjoy an agile, yet structured, way of working and achieving results together with a team in a flexible environment, but also have a strong individual drive to deliver high quality results on time. You have good communication and networking skills and are fluent in written and spoken English.

Alone or as part of a team, you embrace the IKEA values in your daily work. You are not afraid to challenge and stand behind your team in any situation.

We expect you to be fluent in both spoken and written English and Swedish. It is a plus if you also speak other languages. You have excellent computer skills.

The position is a fulltime, permanent position, with the starting date as soon as possible. The Museum will be open 7 days a week, so you are expected to work some evenings and some weekends.
