About the job
Being a Business Development Manager at IKEA means several things. As a part of the Category Management Team, you will actively contribute to the development of the Category Plan. You will lead the Business Development Team, inspire and empower team and co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.

About the assignment
As the Business Development Manager for your region within the Category Foil on Board you will be overall responsible for the business and suppliers performance. You will set the business direction with clear Action plans to improve and develop business and suppliers performance, and deliver to Category Plan, using the Supplier Development Process.


You will secure planning and execution to fulfill the sourcing assignment and pro-actively work together with HFBs to integrate opportunities and act on deviations. You will be held accountable for professional and long term relationship with suppliers through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency. Together with the Category Manager you will assign business to different suppliers in order to secure optimal sourcing set-up. You have the responsibility to secure compliance to IKEA Purchasing Manual and other agreed working methods. As well as you need to identify and start-up new suppliers according to business needs through the business development team and/or by giving assignment to New Business teams.

You will as a manager for the Category Foil on Board have the Business developer assignment for at least one supplier (not necessarily the biggest one). You will be a part of the Category Management team, which requires you to actively contribute to the development of the Category Plan. You will lead and/or contribute to projects on behalf of the overall category or category area, contribute to identify and act on cross-regional synergies & opportunities and pro-actively contribute with competence and resources into the HFB Business and Range Development.

In this assignment you will also be responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co- workers directly in your team. Carry out a driving Leadership and Competence agenda: Identify needs and gaps, and build leadership and competence plans to meet the short and long term business needs. Work towards establishing your cost budget and continuously secure that resources are used in an optimal way to support business goals. At any time, you act as an ambassador of IKEA values and Role Model for Fact-based Business leadership.
