Job Description

At IKEA of Sweden we develop and make the IKEA range available to stores and customers all over the world. Within the responsibilities of IKEA of Sweden lie the development, sourcing, supply and steering of a unique, competitive and efficient range.

We are looking for a Product Requirement Engineer for IKEA Home Smart who will be responsible to develop and maintain the connectivity hardware and software components for the IKEA Home Smart platform. Part of the job is to improve the efficiency and reuse of these hardware and software components in our range, as well as keeping them up to date to the latest market and legal requirements. You will also support in setting up the appropriate factory tests in order to secure quality.
As Product Requirement Engineer you will work closely to the product development team and you are responsible to set-up and document the relevant product requirements as well as to have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization and suppliers to secure successful implementation.
You need to have good insight into IKEA specifications and test methods and be up-to-date with changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with documentation for new products as well as with improvements on the running range.

Qualifications

You probably have a University Degree in Engineering, knowledge of both electrical hardware and software development. You have a good understanding of RF and antenna considerations and how it affects the products performance. Experience from working with product development and knowledge of manufacturing testing is a plus.


You have excellent communication skills and are able to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You are skilled in requirement management and verification planning. A good understanding of the internet of things (IoT) for consumer products is a requirement, as well as the ability to understand, translate and apply technical requirements in product development. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
