Job Description

The growth marketing specialist is responsible for meeting the company’s customer acquisition targets through a product-led growth strategy. This individual will work closely with the company’s CEO and other members of the company’s leadership to develop and execute outreach activities that increase awareness of the company’s brand and products, generate sign ups for trials and free accounts, convert free accounts to paying customers, and deliver strong rates of retention and referrals.

Principal responsibilities are to:

  • Drive new customer acquisition through a systematic and relentless focus on improving AARRR (Acquisition, Activation, Revenue, Retention, and Referral) metrics

  • Manage and maintain the corporate website to promote the brand and support the company’s growth goals

  • Work with marketing team members to develop marketing programs to increase performance on AARRR metrics

  • Work with product development on prioritizing product road map items to increase performance on AARRR metrics 

  • Execute digital marketing campaigns in coordination with marketing leadership

  • Conduct A/B testing on key messages, calls to action, and promotions

  • Collect and analyze pre- and post-activation traffic and usage metrics to determine effectiveness and assist in prioritizing key activities

  • Participate in social media conversations, as appropriate, in support of the company’s AARRR metrics and in a manner that’s aligned with the company’s brand position

Qualifications

Experience

  • Familiarity with common marketing and sales tools used in driving a product-led growth strategy such as Intercom, Segment, and Pendo

  • Understanding of CRM and online content management tools and principles (e.g., HubSpot, WordPress)

  • Experience with programmatic and social media ad platforms, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEO/SEM, e-mail marketing and marketing automation

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • E-commerce and/or B2C experience a plus

  • Fluency in English

  • Comfort with sales

  • Ability to understand educators’ needs and to relate to student support issues

  • Positive, optimistic outlook

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and good humor

  • Strong ambition, great attitude, outstanding work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal), and absolute integrity

  • Confident making cold calls and engaging in conversation with new people

  • Good sense of design

  • A self-starter, but with a willingness to ask for help

  • Ability to work from a home office while interacting in a professional manner with prospects, customers, and colleagues

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Training in growth hacking and/or product-led growth strategies preferred

  • Google Ads certification and/or Google Analytics certification preferred

  • HubSpot certification(s) desirable
