Job Description
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you'll gain hands-on experience across the design, delivery, commissioning and support of EV charging infrastructure projects. Working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll develop technical expertise while contributing to the deployment of innovative electric vehicle charging solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the sales team with technical input during the pre-sales phase, including the preparation of proposals, technical documentation and solution recommendations.
- Producing CAD drawings and electrical designs for EV charging infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant safety, technical and regulatory standards.
- Conducting electrical feasibility assessments, including power availability reviews, load calculations, energy management considerations and network capacity analysis.
- Assisting with the configuration and integration of EV chargers into software platforms and backend systems.
- Supporting charger connectivity setup across 4G, Wi-Fi and LAN networks, and troubleshooting communication issues where required.
- Working with internal support and operations teams to onboard charging stations into monitoring and management platforms.
- Participating in the commissioning of EV charging infrastructure, verifying system performance, functionality and compliance with required standards.
- Collaborating with installation partners and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Monitoring charger performance, responding to system alerts, investigating faults and supporting the resolution of technical issues.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Partner with Sales, Engineering and Project teams to coordinate and deliver site activities.
- Collaborate with installers, project managers, engineers and field technicians to resolve technical issues.
- Support the Customer Support team by providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Liaise with site contacts and customers to coordinate access and maintain a positive customer experience.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to customer and project sites as required.
- Understanding of electrical systems, switchboards, and communications protocols.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using software platforms and digital tools for configuration, diagnostics, and documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working across teams and with customers.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Passion for renewable energy, electric vehicles, and the transition to a more sustainable future.
Desirable
- Exposure to EV charging infrastructure and associated electrical systems.
- Familiarity with OCPP or other EV charging communication protocols.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Exposure to commissioning, testing, or troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Understanding of networking technologies, including 4G, Wi-Fi, and LAN connectivity.
