Job Description
The New Energy Field Supervisor/SME is a key member of the New Energy Operations team, serving as a technical expert for residential PV and BESS installations, with scope expanding to C&I projects as the business grows. This role requires deep expertise in renewable energy systems, including solar technologies, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging (EVC) infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities:
- Technical Expertise: Provide specialist guidance across PV, BESS and EVC projects, acting as the primary technical support for engineering, sales and coordination teams. Stay up to date with industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Quality Assurance: Review designs and technical documentation to ensure regulatory and internal compliance. Maintain accurate project records and contribute to developing procedures and work instructions.
- Site Assessments: Conduct residential and C&I site visits, audits and surveys to verify installation quality, compliance and site suitability.
- Design & Grid Integration: Support design validation and grid connection activities, including DNSP applications, testing and compliance for C&I projects.
- Aftersales Support: Lead troubleshooting, fault investigations and warranty resolution with internal teams and Field Service Providers.
- Collaboration & Partner Management: Work with cross‑functional teams on project delivery and support onboarding, performance and compliance of Field Partners.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Deliver technical training and promote best‑practice installation standards.
- Field Compliance: Review safety documentation and complete regular on‑site safety assessments of Installation teams.
- Technical Nominee Duties: Act as Technical Nominee/Supervisor for relevant contractor licences, ensuring all electrical and renewable energy work meets statutory obligations and Australian Standards, and represent the business with regulators.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A qualified electrician with both SAA Grid-connected PV Systems AND Grid-connected Battery Storage Systems Design and Install Accreditation.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong technical background with a focus on renewable energy systems, solar technologies, battery storage, and/or electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Experience: Demonstrate a track record of technical experience in similar roles within the renewable energy sector or related industries, showcasing your ability to oversee and support the technical aspects of new energy projects.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen analytical mindset to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently and effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: Display meticulous attention to detail, particularly when conducting technical reviews, inspections, and audits to ensure projects meet or exceed industry standards and quality benchmarks.
- Communication: Possess strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, Field Service Providers, and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Exhibit a commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and industry best practices and apply this knowledge to enhance project performance.
