Job Description

Based to the south of Basingstoke, this industry leading, 3D medical imaging and image management software development company, are looking to recruit a bright and enthusiastic QA engineer to join their experienced development team. This role will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to join a team creating software that will make a real difference to people’s lives as the company expands thanks to increased successes in the UK healthcare market. Joining this well-established software development company, you will have the opportunity to implement new ideas and work with technologies, such as Ranorex, C# and .NET as well as working with high performance native C++ applications and libraries. The company has steadily grown to become a market leader over the last 20+ years and are proud of the friendly and cohesive atmosphere throughout.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

● Have a passion to develop software which will make a real difference to people’s lives

● Definition and execution of test plans for client/server applications using a combination of manual and automated testing.

● Collaborate with a cross-functional scrum team in development activities with the goal of ensuring the highest level of quality

● Preparation of documents as defined by regulatory processes

● Development and maintenance of testing infrastructure

● Undertake continuous training in order to improve quality and productivity within the Development team
 

Required Experience and Skills

● Degree in computer science or engineering or related discipline and/or a minimum of 1 year of related QA experience

● Excellent knowledge of methodologies and technologies in QA areas

● Ability to work both independently and in an Agile team-oriented, collaborative environment

● Good written and oral communication skills

● Strong troubleshooting techniques

● Proven ability to be structured, organised and detail oriented

● Good working knowledge of networking

 

 

Qualifications

Desired

● ISTQB foundation-level or equivalent

● Experience with testing automation tools, such as Ranorex, Selenium/Appium, Cucumber or similar tools

● Work and test-case management with Jira/Xray or similar

● Good scripting and/or programming skills in any of the following languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Shell, Python

● Good knowledge of Windows

● Functional knowledge of Linux

● Functional knowledge of SQL & relational databases

● Experience with Source control systems (Subversion preferred)

● Strong personal interest in learning new technologies
