Job Description

The Senior Director of Financial Reporting, reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, will be responsible for the preparation of internal and external financial reporting and disclosure requirements, assisting external auditors with annual financial reports, preparing monthly financial analysis reports, ensuring compliance with proper accounting standards, overseeing external audits, debt compliance, coordinating strategic initiatives, and keeping abreast of accounting and financial reporting rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of internal and external financial reports.
  • Manage the company’s monthly close process, driving efficiency and standardization among the accounting team.  Prepare monthly reporting packages and prepare reporting packages for distribution within established deadlines.
  • Manage internal controls design and effectiveness assessment.
  • Review and implement new accounting policies and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work plans and schedules.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting efforts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Coordinate with internal and external auditors for interim testing and annual audits.
  • Collaborate with the revenue team to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition related to software product offerings, including SaaS offerings, and term licenses, in line with ASC 606 standards and related interpretations.
  • Work with the executive team on accounting positions of unusual and/or high judgment items and ensure the team prepares the organization for impact, including GAAP/non-GAAP, subsequent events, and adoption of new pronouncements. Update management and stakeholders with regulatory requirements and reporting guidelines changes.
  • Set the standards as a guiding professional and advisor for increased levels of employee job satisfaction and employee engagement through the development and mentoring of the accounting team.
  • Oversee accounting integration and valuation for mergers & acquisitions.
  • Work closely with the strategic finance team supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee the tax compliance and related corporate tax return filings.

India Finance:

  • Ensure compliance of and timely submission of government reporting
  • Oversee board management, and timely removal and addition of stake holders.
  • Oversee the timely financial statements according to a close calendar which coincides with the US accounting team.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Ten plus years of experience in progressive accounting roles with a focus on operational efficiencies and financial statement consolidation processes.
  • Must have strong, balanced technical financial skills with an operation orientation. Deep understanding not only of the financial dynamics of a business, but its operating dynamics as well. Highly skilled in weekly/monthly planning and hitting deadlines.
  • Expertise in managing an international and global team.

  • Must be a proactive, organized and detail-oriented individual capable of monitoring the financial systems and controls, and making the necessary changes to upgrade/automate systems and policies/procedures where applicable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to contemporary business processes and continuous improvements based on a data driven approach.
  • Experience with managing global accounting operations and working with international subsidiaries is a plus.
  • Verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks, and opportunities to all levels of the organization.
  • Consistent record of developing high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers, preferably expansive of navigating a large corporation
  • Demonstrated experience working with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
