Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong expertise in Splunk and .NET technologies to support the modernization of the BCA’s Archive Services application. This role involves technical leadership, hands-on development, team training, and close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train the Software Development team on Splunk, covering fundamentals through advanced topics including reporting, dashboards, events, search capabilities, APIs, Knowledge Objects, and data models.

  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement a Splunk-based solution to modernize the BCA Archive Services application.

  • Work with planning managers, architects, business analysts, QA analysts, and agency stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and development specifications aligned with system architecture.

  • Develop and implement enterprise-level solutions following established development patterns and data security standards.

  • Build, deploy, and test applications and modules using automated testing and CI/CD tools.

  • Provide guidance on technical solution options to ensure cost-effective and scalable outcomes.

  • Review and support the creation of test cases and test plans with QA teams.

  • Perform unit and integration testing.

  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts and introduce new tools or methods when appropriate.

  • Establish strong working relationships with senior technical staff and criminal justice stakeholders.

  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions as required.

  • Required Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience developing Splunk applications, API, Dashboard, and logging. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to: write Splunk applications using Splunk APIs, administrate the Splunk Dashboard, provide Splunk training in all aspects of the Splunk technology, and collaborate with software development team to develop a Splunk solution.
  • Seven years of experience developing ASP .NET MVC applications with C#
  • Five years of Unit test experience (NUnit or JUnit)
  • Seven years of experience using HTML/CSS
  • Seven years of experience using JavaScript
  • Five years of CSS experience
  • Experience using Entity Framework
  • Experience writing T-SQL for MS SQL Server
  • Experience within an Agile Scrum development team
  • Experience in development of Windows Services using .NET 4.0 or above
  • Experience using XML schemas
  • Experience using XSLT
  • Experience using REST/SOAP web services
  • Experience using Web API
  • Experience with DevOps incorporating automation for CI/CD pipelines GitLab or GitHub
  • Experience working with front-end JavaScript libraries, especially Bootstrap 4/5 and jQuery
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts
  • Experience working with law enforcement or criminal justice systems
