Job Title: Associate Scientist III (Senior Histotechnician)

Location: Cambridge, MA

Duration: 1 Year + (Possible Extension)

Summary: 

Perform histology and immunohistochemistry assays for analysis of preclinical and clinical samples, and related duties such as quality control, sample accessioning and instrument routine maintenance.

Job Responsibility:

• Perform routine and specialized histotechnology-based assays on cells and tissues include harvesting, fixing, trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and coverslipping. 

• Histotechnology will include working with frozen and fixed tissues using both histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. 

• Work will involve robotic instrumentation. 

Follow procedures according to established SOPs and other department guidelines. 

• Perform data entry, sample accessioning and sample tracking. 

• Responsible for documentation necessary for Quality Control, Preventive Maintenance and assay validation. 

General laboratory duties duties that may include instrument routine cleaning and maintenance, lab reagent inventories.

Qualification & Experienced Required: 

• Excellent tissue handling techniques. 

• Experience with routine histology, special stains, and immunohistochemistry 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills. 

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. 

• Minimum 1 year laboratory experience in academic, industry, or hospital setting
