Job Description

The novel drug delivery technologies group in the Bio-therapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences organization seeks a qualified individual with hands-on knowledge and experience in analytical characterization of protein-based and small molecule therapeutics, together with an interest in the development and application of novel drug delivery approaches. 


The candidate will be responsible for carrying out experiments and data analyses using formulation, analytical and biophysical techniques to formulate and characterize a broad range of therapeutics and drug delivery systems. An enthusiastic and quick learner, with critical and analytical thinking skills along with excellent oral and written communication abilities is essential.


Responsibilities

• Develop methods and processes for fabrication and characterization of novel drug delivery formulations for drug candidates including proteins/mAbs, small molecules, , vaccines, and oligonucleotides. 

• Conduct sample analyses in support of formulation characterization, stability and solubility assessments; including method and assay development, and troubleshooting. 

• Organize, analyze, and interpret experimental results for detailed reports and presentations.


Qualifications

• MS in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, pharmaceutical science, or a related field 

• At least three years of relevant industrial experience in drug discovery or development 

• Hands-on experience with novel drug delivery formulations and general analytical techniques for small molecule and protein characterization including liquid chromatography (i.e. RP-HPLC, SEC, Ion Exchange, etc.) 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others in a dynamic and collaborative environment 

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and fast learner


Additional Desired Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of, or a demonstrated interest in current approaches and trends in drug delivery, and characterization of functional biomaterials 

• Experience with nano-particle fabrication and/or characterization is desirable
