Position: Computer Operator

Location: Quincy, Washington

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities: 

• Assists in entering commands on computer and peripheral equipment to execute basic job production applications in accordance with defined procedures. 

• Assists in entering commands on computers, tape drives, printers, data communications equipment and plotters to integrate and operate equipment. 

• Initializes tapes; loads and unloads tapes to facilitate and maintain production. 

• Sets up printers for routine jobs; loads printers with selected materials such as paper or ink cartridges to facilitate continued production. 

• Observes computer and peripheral equipment; identifies concerns; escalates as appropriate. 

• Assists in labeling and organizing output and backup tapes in accordance with prescribed guidelines. 

• Monitors levels of supplies and reports supply levels to supervisor for resolution. 

• Experience with computer systems, system job control language and desktop computer software. 

• Basic analytical and problem solving skills.

• High School Diploma with 3 to 5 years’ experience.
