Job Description

This role is for a Clinical Associate who has experience managing budgets and forecasting spend for clinical projects. CRO experience is a nice to have, but clinical and financial experience is a must. 

This role will be responsible for financial support (budgets and appropriate forecasting) to clinical teams both at a program and study level. This person will align and partner with GCO program team members, and various Development Sciences stakeholders, as needed, to support robust total study budget build and planning (CDP baseline, LRP, AOP, etc) using industry benchmarks, metrics and BIIB historical analytics. The role will provide strategic financial insight to the Clinical Development Plan and study estimates for the optimization of program dollars and will have a holistic view of total spend, change throughout the year, and analytics around both. 

1. Manages all forecasting needs for the Clinical Program with alignment and transparency to key stakeholders (including Biometrics, MDs and Med Affairs) and in conjunction with contract managers. Utilizes appropriate analytics and benchmarks for the production of an accurate, quality forecast. Responsible for meeting all corporate timelines and processes associated with these various forecasts (AOP, LRP and quarterly and other interim forecasts). 

2. Supports, and partners with, the Clinical Program team in the development of their CDP (total study budgets) with financial analytics, costing scenarios and spend impacts on components of the plan. Includes analysis of historical spend and proposals for cost containment and financial efficiencies. 

3. Maintains constant fiscal vigilance on program spending and trending, and consults with program team and other Development Sciences stakeholders on clinical spend strategies 

Proficiency in Excel and financial analytics. Appropriate candidate will have the skills and behaviors to be fully consultative with stakeholders. Will have proficiencies in strategic planning, learning agility, along with financial acumen.
