Title: Care Manager I

Duration: 06 months (temp to perm)

Location: San Diego CA 92108

Hours: 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am – 5pm. This will be determined by the manager

Description:

· Authorizes and reviews utilization of mental health and substance abuse services provided in inpatient and intermediate care settings; collects and analyses utilization data.

· Assists with discharge planning and ambulatory follow up activity; provides member assistance with mental health and substance abuse issues, and participates in QI projects.

· Manages a caseload of ICM members if assigned.

Training: 1 week of formal training and then floor training.

The selected candidate will authorize and review utilization of mental health and substance abuse services provided in inpatient and intermediate care settings; collect and analyse utilization data.

Assist with discharge planning and ambulatory follow up activity; provide members assistance with mental health and substance abuse issues, and participates in QI projects.

The selected candidate will manager 10-15 reviews/day.

He/She must be able to type and talk at the same time, comfortable with working in a cubical environment and navigating through multiple systems.

Managed Care experience will stand out on the resume.

Requirements/Certifications:

License: LPC, LCSW or RN

Education: All licenses require a Master’s Degree EXCEPT for the RN. The RN requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
