Company Description
Integrated Dermatology is a leading national dermatology practice that acquires and partners with dermatology practices across the United States. Our environment is built on collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading key areas of the corporate accounting function for a complex, multi-entity healthcare organization. This role manages and develops accounting staff, owns significant components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and consolidated financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
The Accounting Manager is a hands-on leader who combines strong technical accounting skills with disciplined close management, effective review controls, and a continuous-improvement mindset. The role works closely with FP&A, Treasury, Payroll, Human Resources, Legal, Operations, Accounts Payable, Tax, and external auditors and supports acquisitions, entity integrations, system enhancements, and other finance transformation initiatives.
Job Description
Accounting Close & Financial Reporting
• Lead assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring deadlines are met and results are complete, accurate, and supported.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, roll-forward schedules, and other close workpapers prepared by the accounting team.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure consistent application of the chart of accounts and accounting policies across corporate and operating entities.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate unusual or material fluctuations, and ensure reconciling items are resolved timely.
• Support preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, management reporting, and financial analyses in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Drive close-calendar discipline and identify opportunities to shorten the close while improving accuracy and documentation.
Corporate & Technical Accounting
• Oversee accounting for corporate transactions including fixed assets, leases under ASC 842, debt and interest, equity transactions, payroll and bonus accruals, prepaid expenses, contingent liabilities, and other significant balance sheet accounts.
• Review intercompany transactions, allocations, due-to/due-from balances, and eliminations across a large multi-entity organization and ensure differences are investigated and resolved.
• Research accounting guidance for new or non-routine transactions, document conclusions, and ensure appropriate application of U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain and enhance corporate accounting policies, procedures, account reconciliation standards, and supporting documentation.
Acquisitions & Entity Integration
• Support acquisition accounting, including opening balance sheets, purchase accounting entries, acquired asset and liability schedules, and post-close accounting integration.
• Coordinate the accounting onboarding of newly acquired practices and legal entities, including chart-of-accounts mapping, balance sheet validation, intercompany setup, and transition into the corporate close process.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, Treasury, and integration teams to identify and resolve accounting matters arising from acquisitions and organizational changes.
Team Leadership & Review
• Manage, coach, and develop Senior and Staff Accountants; establish priorities, assign work, monitor deadlines, and provide timely feedback.
• Provide substantive review of team work product rather than relying solely on completion checklists; ensure calculations and accounting conclusions are understood, accurate, and appropriately supported.
• Build team capability through documented procedures, cross-training, technical coaching, and clear accountability for recurring responsibilities.
• Create a responsive, service-oriented culture when working with practice and corporate stakeholders.
Controls, Audit & Compliance
• Maintain effective internal controls over assigned accounting processes and identify control gaps or areas requiring stronger review and documentation.
• Coordinate audit requests and prepare or review schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Ensure accounting records and workpapers are audit-ready, well organized, and sufficiently documented to support material judgments and transactions.
• Partner with tax and external advisors to provide accurate financial information and schedules needed for tax compliance and other reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Systems
• Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and simplify accounting processes across a growing multi-entity organization.
• Lead or participate in ERP, close-management, reconciliation, reporting, and other finance-system implementations and enhancements.
• Develop scalable accounting processes that can support continued growth and acquisition activity without sacrificing control or accuracy.
• Establish and monitor key accounting metrics, including close timeliness, reconciliation completion, aged reconciling items, and other measures of accounting quality.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree a plus.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory or accounting team leadership experience.

• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting required; healthcare, physician practice management, MSO, or other multi-location experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with acquisitions, purchase accounting, debt, equity, fixed assets, and ASC 842 lease accounting preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
