Job Description

Our busy Dermatology practice is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team!

Duties: 

  • Check patients in/out
  • Collect copayment and deductibles
  • Verify patient information at the time of booking appointments (Telephone, DOB, PCP, Insurance information)
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, greet, and check in patients in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record system
  • Assists physicians by performing administrative and clinical duties
  • Interview patients to obtain their medical history
  • Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments
  • Assists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materials
  • Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintain work practices that comply with established office policy and procedures
  • Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and peers
  • Oversee and ensure that patients’ needs are met and that patients are served in an efficient and patient friendly manner
  • Respond to staff doctor needs before, during, and after patient exams

Job Type:

  • Full-time – Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-12pm

Experience:

  • Minimum: 3 to 5 years of work experience in a Medical setting
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Candidates that are bilingual in English & Spanish are more competitive in this role

Education:

  • High School Diploma is required

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Associate degree preferred

Pay:

  • Pay starts at $20.00 per hour and increases with years of experience
