Job Description
Our busy Dermatology practice is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team!
Duties:
- Check patients in/out
- Collect copayment and deductibles
- Verify patient information at the time of booking appointments (Telephone, DOB, PCP, Insurance information)
- Answer incoming telephone calls, greet, and check in patients in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record system
- Assists physicians by performing administrative and clinical duties
- Interview patients to obtain their medical history
- Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files
- Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments
- Assists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materials
- Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations
- Demonstrate a commitment to maintain work practices that comply with established office policy and procedures
- Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and peers
- Oversee and ensure that patients’ needs are met and that patients are served in an efficient and patient friendly manner
- Respond to staff doctor needs before, during, and after patient exams
Qualifications:

Job Type:
- Full-time – Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-12pm
Experience:
- Minimum: 3 to 5 years of work experience in a Medical setting
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems
- Candidates that are bilingual in English & Spanish are more competitive in this role
Education:
- High School Diploma is required
Certifications/Licenses:
- Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Associate degree preferred
Pay:
- Pay starts at $20.00 per hour and increases with years of experience
