What You’ll Be Doing

Designing Citizen-Facing Solutions

  • Shape and configure capabilities within ServiceNow that support service intake, case routing, and multi-step processes used across public programs.

  • Develop tailored flows, logic, and data integrations that allow government systems to communicate seamlessly.

  • Create user-friendly portals and guided experiences for both community users and agency employees.

Delivering End-to-End Implementations

  • Work directly with business owners to translate service requests and operational needs into platform configurations.

  • Build features that support proactive or automated service interactions, improving visibility for constituents.

  • Engineer solutions that meet long-term stability expectations, scale for high-volume usage, and align with regulatory guidance.

Systems Integration & Ongoing Enhancements

  • Connect ServiceNow with internal and external platforms including CRMs, ERPs, legacy applications, and data hubs.

  • Support existing implementations through debugging, optimization, and expanding module capabilities.

  • Maintain structured documentation across all configurations, custom components, and workflow designs.

Platform Governance & Quality

  • Apply development patterns that align with ServiceNow’s recommended framework.

  • Build solutions with attention to public-sector requirements—security, accessibility, audit readiness, and data protections.

  • Participate in peer reviews and help shape development standards for the team.

Who Succeeds in This Role

  • Experience building or configuring CSM or Public Sector solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

  • Solid understanding of the platform ecosystem: tables, architecture, APIs, integration patterns (REST/SOAP), and data structures.

  • Comfortable coding with JavaScript, working with Glide APIs, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and similar components.

  • Familiar with user permissions, access controls, and overall platform security posture.

  • Experience tailoring Service Portal interfaces or creating custom widgets.

  • Typically 3+ years working hands-on with ServiceNow development.

  • Background in integrating ServiceNow with outside systems through API-based communication.

  • Exposure to platform updates, instance health checks, or system maintenance is beneficial.

Bonus Skills

  • ServiceNow CSA certification.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

  • Understanding of government service models, resident engagement workflows, or public program operations.
