Job Description

The Director of Product Marketing will support our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) business unit, leading the go-to-market strategy for a portfolio of innovative products that help our customers make better decisions with data.

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will report to the Vice President of Product Marketing and manage a team of product marketing managers. You will also be a key member of the FP&A business unit leadership team, representing marketing and collaborating with other business unit leaders.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute the Go-To-Market strategy for your products by collaborating with business unit leaders and our product management team to define the target market, value proposition, differentiation, and positioning.
  • Crafting and delivering compelling messages and stories that showcase the value of your products and resonate with your audience.
  • Planning and overseeing successful product launches and campaigns that create awareness, demand, adoption, and retention of your products.
  • Serving as the product expert and evangelist for your products, both internally and externally, and communicating the vision, value, and benefits to multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborating and influencing cross-functionally with business unit leaders, product management, sales, sales enablement, customer success, and other marketing teams to ensure alignment and coordination on product messaging, launches, and programs.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of product marketing managers, providing them with guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Presenting and reporting on marketing metrics to the FP&A business unit leadership team, explaining the performance and impact of our outbound and inbound marketing campaigns, and answering questions about them.
  • Becoming a trusted advisor to leaders in the FP&A business unit by demonstrating your leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Operating effectively within a matrix organization, where you have to balance the needs and expectations of both the functional departments and the business units.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in product marketing leadership in a B2B software business, preferably in the finance and accounting domain.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and craft engaging stories.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders within your business unit and across the organization.
  • A results-oriented and data-driven mindset, with the ability to measure and optimize the performance and impact of your marketing initiatives.
  • A drive and grit to operate in a fast-paced environment, with the focus and determination to achieve high-quality results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • You have 8-10 years of marketing experience in B2B technology companies, with 3-5 years of product marketing experience and at least 2 years of people management experience
  • You are a strong, pro-active leader and coach with excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
  • You are data-driven and able to understand, explain, and diagnose performance metrics from inbound and outbound campaigns and discuss them with other business unit leaders
  • You understand the finance and accounting software market and have strong market analysis and ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn't—working
  • You are a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and operating in a matrix business unit environment
  • You are a strong writer, with the ability to craft engaging and clear messages and stories
  • You are a creative thinker, with the ability to translate technical details into compelling business benefits
  • You have a keen eye for quality and attention to detail, with high standards for your work and your team's work
  • You are familiar with CRM and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce and Pardot
