Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Counsel to join our commercial Legal team at one of the world's fastest growing and successful software companies. In this role, you will be responsible for the legal support of insightsoftware's EMEA commercial activities. Applying your strong knowledge and experience in the software industry, you will take ownership of and resolve complex legal and contractual issues, and confidently collaborate with senior leaders across various departments as trusted advisor. Reporting directly to the Senior Corporate Counsel EMEA , this role will also be key in building scalable legal processes that align with insightsoftware's business objectives and accommodate continuous growth.

  • Contracting excellence. You will be responsible for bringing excellence to the execution of insightsoftware's EMEA contracting activities in a fast-paced environment, achieving timely and effective results, and applying a strategic and pragmatic mindset. This includes reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of documents included in a commercial contracting cycle, including customer software agreements, partner agreements, data processing agreements, information security addenda, nondisclosure agreements and legal terms in RFPs). This role also involves helping other commercial team members in their day-to-day work. Additionally, you will review leases, product-related agreements and various vendor agreements when requested by the procurement team.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem solving. With a 'can-do' attitude, you will lead and solve complex commercial-related projects and any disputes, and play a key role in the integration of EMEA-based company acquisitions into insightsoftware's commercial operations. You will provide strategic assistance the legal department in its other activities as needs arise.
  • Outstanding Team Player. You will foster a positive, motivated and collaborative work culture, and will help other commercial team members in their day-to-day work.
  • Key Trusted Advisor. You will be a key trusted advisor to internal business stakeholders, including to senior leaders, by advising on and leading commercial matters with a business-oriented and results-focused mindset, and making timely and well-informed decisions, even in challenging situations.
  • Passionate about scaling. Design and execute streamlined and scalable legal processes and templates to enhance the efficiency of the commercial legal team and its effective collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
  • Business Curiosity. Stay informed about changes in legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the IT sector, and in industry-standard positions, adapting legal strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Law degree from a recognized institution and qualified for the practice of law.
  • Fluency in English and French, including the ability to negotiate and draft effectively in both languages.
  • Strong experience in the software (including cloud-computing) industry.
  • Demonstrate substantial knowledge and experience in privacy law, particularly with a focus on GDPR matters.
  • Proven track record of effectively working on Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and navigating complex contractual issues related to data protection.
  • Outstanding team player. Passionate about building relationships and collaborating with legal teammates and key stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused mindset and excellent internal client-facing demeanor.
  • Problem solver - ability to resolve legal and business issues practically and efficiently.
