Summary:

The Accountant General ledger will be primarily responsible for handling all GL / Accounting related activities with the team including day to day operations , reporting and posting of the  general accounting entries, reviewing  the accounts and documents of the monthly closing in the prescribed format for ISW. We are looking for a dynamic individual with sound knowledge of accounting and has handled General Ledger, Financial statements, Revenue accounting & related MIS. The successful candidate will ideally have a background working in a similar role and will be able to demonstrate their capabilities in performing the above called responsibilities.

 

Strong organization and interpersonal skills are essential along with a good eye for interpreting complex data. An advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be key, and experience using NetSuite and SFDC  would be advantageous.

What will you do?

  • Ensure an accurate and timely month end close by preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations for cash, prepaids, accruals, inter-company, fixed asset, and various other accounts.
  • Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyse and describe balance sheet and operating expense fluctuations.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Assisting the team with accounting issues and queries.
  • Staying updated with the best practices in accounting.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.  
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and work on a tight timeframe.
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues demonstrating technical aptitude proactively and independently.
  • The ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with all levels of the organization effectively and adeptly.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Flexibility to handle additional special projects as assigned.
  • Team player, enjoys being part of a group, driven to add value to the position.

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of General accounting, reconciliations, book closing or financial reporting experience.
  • Finance/Accounting graduate, CA inter preferred
  • Good knowledge regarding accounting policies and regulatory frameworks
  • Understanding of accounting cycle financial reporting processes, risk, and controls
  • Experience in USGAAP desirable
  • Adherence to deadlines and ability to work on own initiative and time pressure is a must.
  • NetSuite & SFDC experience a plus
  • Willingness to work in shifts.
