Characteristics:

• As a DevOps Engineer on our team, you’ll use your development experience to streamline our software development life cycle from requirements to monitoring in production.
• Will closely work with Product development team and contribute to the product till production and support.
• The DevOps engineer is one with a strong affinity for (optimizing) CI/CD processes using proven infra and software technology.
• He/she is very keen on delivering high quality services to the other agile teams. Doing so by preventing impediments because of a robust development platform and eliminating them as quickly as possible when they happen.
• The DevOps engineer has a strong inclination to automate everything, thereby eliminating the impact of human error as much as possible.
• As a craftsman, he or she is constantly aware of the importance of consistent quality.

Responsibilities – 

This devops role is not limited to creating pipelines, but also contribute to 

1. 1. The platform design and implementation activities to support current and future product development using Java, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECR, Bitbucket, Sonar Cube and CI/CD using Jenkins.
   2. Good understanding of software product release process
   3. Automate processes for software product releases supporting multiple target OS flavours, primarily Linux
   4. Supporting the development teams in such a way that they can focus on developing the applications/products as much as possible to deploy till production and support later on.
   5. Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments, propose and implement solutions
   6. implement DevOps solutions for users to improve developer productivity – staged deployment till production and multiplatform support.
   7. Building and maintaining internal tooling
   8. Document and actively share knowledge about the Development Platform and its processes
   9. Challenges development teams on best practices concerning CI/CD, CT and CM
   10. Gather feedback from Development, CloudOps, Support\Operations teams to incorporate the inputs back to automated code.

Requirements - 

• Btech in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent job experience
• 3-5 years of experience in DevOps processes, tools and technologies for enterprise SaaS product in Java on Linux OS hosted in a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, GCP
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI and CD pipeline architecture and processes
• Proven work experience as a DevOps engineer to host on public cloud (AWS preferable) 
• Proven work experience with implementing CI/CD in Azure DevOps, Jenkins (Preferable), Bamboo or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge and experience in using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECR.
• Proven work experience with Python, Shell, and/or any other scripting technologies, automated software installs and upgrades
• Proven work experience with Linux administration, scripting
• Experience with Atlassian suite products such as JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence 
• Acceptable knowledge on Java tech stack: Java, Spring, Microservices to facilitate reliable, secure and faster deployment & functioning product on cloud.
